Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead the design, planning, and execution of municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, and public spaces.
- Technical Design: Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit.
- Compliance & Regulation: Ensure all projects adhere to local, state, and federal codes, as well as environmental regulations and sustainability standards.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct site inspections, review contractor submissions, and ensure quality control throughout the construction phase.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams, contractors, and community stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and conflict resolution.
- Report Generation: Produce comprehensive technical reports, feasibility studies, and progress updates for city leadership and funding agencies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
- Licensure: Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, preferably within a municipal or public works environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D), GIS, and project management tools (Primavera, MS Project).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical data to non-technical audiences.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor junior engineers, and manage multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines.
