Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, design, and construction of major civil engineering projects, including roadway rehabilitation, drainage systems, and storm water management.
- Conduct thorough site inspections and quality control reviews to ensure compliance with San Francisco Municipal Code, Caltrans standards, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, urban planners, and contractors, to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and bid documents, ensuring clarity and accuracy for all stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering a culture of technical excellence and safety.
- Utilize advanced CAD and BIM software to create detailed engineering drawings and models.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in civil engineering, with a focus on public works or municipal projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
- Proven experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Strong knowledge of local geotechnical conditions, seismic design requirements, and flood management systems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
