Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive land use policies for unincorporated county areas
- Review and approve zoning variances and subdivision permits
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and mitigation planning
- Lead public hearings and stakeholder engagement initiatives
- Collaborate with regional partners on transportation and infrastructure planning
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for county commissioners
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive planning experience in municipal/county government
- Texas AICP certification required
- Expertise in GIS mapping and development review software
- Strong analytical skills with complex regulatory frameworks
- Exceptional communication and public presentation abilities
- Valid Texas driver's license
