Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents within the SIEM environment.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and risk analysis to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Design, implement, and manage security controls and firewalls to protect network assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Develop and deliver cybersecurity training programs for county staff to raise awareness of phishing and social engineering threats.
- Lead forensic investigations and root cause analysis for security breaches.
- Maintain documentation of security policies, procedures, and audit findings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior analyst capacity.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent certification.
- Deep knowledge of NIST frameworks, ISO 27001, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
