Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end analysis of complex datasets to support citywide initiatives, budget planning, and policy development.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and data visualizations (using Tableau, PowerBI, or similar tools) to communicate findings to stakeholders and the public.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including city managers, urban planners, and software engineers, to translate data requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance with federal and state privacy regulations and open data standards.
- Conduct statistical modeling and predictive analytics to forecast trends and identify operational efficiencies.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of departmental data standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data analysis, preferably within the public sector or a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Expert proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Strong experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Qlik).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience working with large, unstructured datasets and cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Snowflake).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
