Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental compliance programs for industrial facilities in the Houston metropolitan area
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and investigations to enforce environmental regulations
- Analyze complex environmental data and prepare detailed technical reports for regulatory decisions
- Provide expert guidance to regulated entities on pollution prevention and sustainable practices
- Coordinate with federal agencies including EPA on regional environmental initiatives
- Train junior staff on regulatory requirements and enforcement protocols
- Represent TCEQ at public hearings and community outreach events
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of regulatory compliance experience in environmental protection
- Professional certification (e.g., QEP, CHMM) or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Advanced knowledge of TCEQ regulations, EPA standards, and local ordinances
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in environmental data analysis software
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for technical reporting
- Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to travel up to 20% of time within the Houston region
