Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental policy frameworks aligned with state regulations
- Conduct complex environmental impact assessments for major infrastructure projects
- Lead stakeholder engagement with community groups, industry partners, and local governments
- Analyze environmental data to recommend regulatory improvements and enforcement actions
- Manage grant programs supporting community-based environmental initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive reports and testify before legislative committees
- Mentor junior specialists and coordinate interdepartmental projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in environmental regulation or policy development
- California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance expertise
- Strong analytical skills with environmental data interpretation experience
- Proficient in GIS mapping and environmental modeling software
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to obtain Secret security clearance
