Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce environmental regulations for industrial facilities and water systems
- Conduct field inspections and investigations of pollution sources
- Prepare comprehensive environmental impact assessments and compliance reports
- Develop and implement pollution prevention strategies for local businesses
- Collaborate with federal agencies on coastal protection programs
- Train local government officials on environmental compliance protocols
- Manage environmental data using GIS and regulatory databases
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of regulatory compliance experience
- Valid Florida Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Professional Scientist (RPS) license
- Proficiency in environmental data analysis software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS)
- Strong knowledge of Florida's Water Quality Standards and FDEP regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in field conditions and lift 25 lbs
- Valid Florida driver's license
