Responsibilities
- Develop and administer county environmental compliance programs for air quality, water resources, and waste management
- Lead multi-stakeholder initiatives including public-private partnerships and community outreach campaigns
- Analyze environmental impact assessments and recommend regulatory modifications to County Commissioners
- Manage grant funding processes for environmental projects, securing $500K+ annually
- Train county staff and external partners on environmental regulations and best practices
- Prepare comprehensive reports for state agencies and federal regulators
- Oversee field investigations and remediation of environmental incidents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive environmental regulatory experience
- Professional certification (e.g., CHMM, PG, or equivalent)
- Expertise in EPA and Colorado DEQ regulations
- Advanced data analysis and GIS mapping skills
- Proven grant writing and project management success
- Valid Colorado driver's license
- Experience with public speaking and community engagement
