Responsibilities
- System Security & Compliance: Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with federal regulations, including FISMA and NIST 800-53.
- Cyber Defense: Monitor network traffic, analyze security logs, and respond to potential threats or incidents in real-time to prevent data breaches.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of federal information systems, including cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and on-premise servers.
- Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures, providing guidance to junior staff and federal clients.
- Incident Response: Lead post-incident reviews and remediation efforts to strengthen the organization's security posture against future attacks.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with third-party vendors to ensure integrated security solutions meet federal standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in federal information technology, network administration, or cybersecurity roles.
- Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance is mandatory. Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance is required.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in network security tools (FireEye, Splunk, Snort) and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
