As a Senior Federal IT Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the security and integrity of federal information systems. You will work in a dynamic environment that values technical excellence and mission-driven work.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of federal network infrastructure and hardware systems.
- Ensure strict compliance with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) and agency security protocols.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement security patches to protect against cyber threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support digital transformation initiatives within federal agencies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff and junior analysts.
- Manage incident response procedures for system outages and security breaches.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a federal security clearance.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal IT systems administration or a related technical field.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent technical certification).
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or relevant federal IT certifications are highly preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with government stakeholders.
