In this pivotal position, you will ensure the accuracy and compliance of federal pension plans, directly impacting the financial security of thousands of active and retired federal employees.
As a Senior Analyst, you will serve as a subject matter expert on FERS, CSRS, and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) regulations. You will lead complex investigations, interpret legislative changes, and provide strategic guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Analyze Pension Data: Review and audit complex pension calculations, ensuring strict adherence to federal guidelines and OPM regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor changes in federal retirement laws and interpret their impact on current pension plans and member benefits.
- Member Inquiries: Serve as the primary point of contact for high-level member inquiries regarding retirement eligibility, survivor benefits, and medical retirement.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current pension processing workflows and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Training & Support: Develop and deliver training materials and presentations for internal staff on complex pension topics.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of pension decisions, appeals, and case resolutions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal pension administration, retirement plan management, or actuarial science.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS), and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) regulations.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel (pivot tables, vlookups) required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
