Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and server systems.
- Security Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to federal security standards, including FISMA, NIST, and CJIS regulations to protect sensitive data.
- System Administration: Install, configure, and manage software, operating systems, and hardware for federal systems, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support and guidance to federal staff and end-users, resolving complex network and system issues efficiently.
- Audits & Reporting: Prepare and present technical reports regarding system status, security audits, and compliance metrics to federal stakeholders.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and contractors to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in systems administration, specifically within the federal government or defense contracting sector.
- Certifications: Active Top Secret or Secret security clearance is required. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or ITIL are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V), and network security protocols.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
