Responsibilities
- System Architecture & Design: Lead the design and architecture of complex federal information systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security compliance (FISMA).
- Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and technical leads, providing guidance on best practices, coding standards, and system integration.
- Requirements Analysis: Gather and analyze detailed requirements from stakeholders to define system specifications and functional capabilities.
- Security Compliance: Oversee implementation of security controls, conduct risk assessments, and ensure adherence to DoD security directives.
- Project Management: Support project timelines, manage deliverables, and coordinate with cross-functional teams including software developers, network engineers, and security analysts.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including System Requirements Specifications (SRS), architecture diagrams, and test plans.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage third-party vendors and subcontractors to ensure project success.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field is required. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in systems engineering within a federal or defense contracting environment.
- Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Polygraph is mandatory.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS), system modeling tools (e.g., Rhapsody), and scripting languages (Python/Bash).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Agile/SDLC: Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Travel: Ability to travel to customer sites as required (typically < 10%).
