Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of advanced GIS databases and mapping systems.
- Conduct complex spatial analysis to support county planning, zoning, and emergency management initiatives.
- Create high-quality cartographic products and interactive web maps for public and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS solutions into existing software applications.
- Provide technical mentorship and training to junior analysts and department staff.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with state and federal standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in GIS analysis, data management, or spatial modeling.
- Expert proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and Server, as well as open-source tools like QGIS.
- Strong coding skills in Python or SQL for automation and data processing.
- Experience with web mapping platforms (ArcGIS Online, Leaflet, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences.
