Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex GIS applications, web maps, and data visualization dashboards using ArcGIS and modern web technologies.
- Conduct advanced spatial analysis and modeling to support county departments in land use planning, asset management, and environmental monitoring.
- Integrate diverse data sources (census data, imagery, IoT sensors) into unified geospatial databases to enhance decision-making capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical GIS solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior analysts and county staff on GIS software and best practices.
- Maintain and optimize GIS infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy, system security, and high availability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, software development, or data science.
- Expert proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online (Enterprise).
- Strong programming skills in Python (ArcPy) or SQL for data manipulation and automation.
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and web mapping frameworks (e.g., Leaflet, D3.js) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various county locations as needed.
