Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and server hardware.
- System Administration: Manage and secure virtualization platforms and cloud environments, ensuring 99.9% uptime for county systems.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive citizen data and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Technical Support: Lead the resolution of complex technical issues for county departments, providing advanced technical guidance to junior staff.
- Project Implementation: Assist in the planning and execution of major IT upgrades, software deployments, and hardware refreshes.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external vendors and service providers to manage contracts and service level agreements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience (5+ years).
- Certifications: Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
- Experience: Proven track record of working in a government or large enterprise IT environment.
