Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant opportunities from federal agencies, private foundations, and corporate sponsors aligned with organizational priorities
- Develop, write, and submit high-impact grant proposals with compelling narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with program officers and funding partners
- Collaborate with program staff to gather project data, outcomes, and impact stories
- Manage grant application processes, including reporting requirements and compliance
- Analyze funding trends and provide strategic recommendations for portfolio diversification
- Maintain accurate grant records in CRM systems and track submission metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with successful track record securing $500K+ annually
- Deep understanding of federal grant processes (e.g., SAM.gov, Grants.gov) and private foundation requirements
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with ability to translate complex programs into persuasive narratives
- Experience developing program budgets and budget narratives for grant applications
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and grant management software
- Portfolio demonstrating 15+ successful grant awards from diverse funding sources
- Knowledge of Wisconsin nonprofit landscape and community needs
