Responsibilities
- Research and identify federal, state, and private funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
- Develop compelling grant proposals with budgets, narratives, and supporting documentation
- Cultivate relationships with program officers at 50+ funding institutions
- Collaborate with department heads to gather program data and impact metrics
- Manage a $5M+ grant portfolio with 95% success rate
- Prepare complex financial reports and compliance documentation for funders
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of grant writing experience with $500K+ average award size
- Proven track record securing grants from foundations like The Miami Foundation and Knight Foundation
- Expertise in federal grant applications (SAM.gov, Grants.gov)
- Advanced knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and budget development
- Exceptional writing skills with portfolio of 20+ successful proposals
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud preferred)
