Responsibilities
- Research and identify federal, state, and private funding opportunities aligned with our mission
- Develop and write high-impact grant proposals and LOIs ($500K - $5M range)
- Manage 25+ active grant relationships with foundations and government agencies
- Collaborate with program directors to design fundable project budgets and narratives
- Maintain accurate grant calendars and compliance documentation
- Analyze funding trends and prepare quarterly funding strategy reports
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices and storytelling techniques
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with $1M+ secured funding track record
- Proven success with federal grants (especially NIH, HUD, and NSF)
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- Certificate in Grant Writing (GPC preferred)
- Advanced proficiency with Salesforce and grant management software
- Exceptional writing samples demonstrating persuasive storytelling ability
- Experience working with 501(c)(3) organizations and community foundations
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
