- Research and identify relevant grant opportunities from federal, state, and private foundations
- Develop persuasive grant proposals and budgets aligned with organizational goals
- Collaborate with program teams to gather impact data and success stories
- Manage grant reporting and compliance requirements for existing funders
- Maintain accurate records in grant management databases
- Represent organization at funder meetings and networking events
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, English, or related field
- 3+ years of professional grant writing experience
- Proven track record securing $500k+ annually in grants
- Expertise with federal (SAM.gov) and private foundation applications
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Strong analytical abilities for budget development and impact measurement
- Proficiency with grant management software (e.g., Salesforce NPSP)
- Experience working with San Diego County nonprofit sector preferred
