Responsibilities
- Research and identify relevant grant opportunities from federal, state, foundation, and corporate sources
- Develop persuasive grant proposals, budgets, and supporting narratives tailored to funder priorities
- Manage complex grant application processes including compliance review and submission
- Build and maintain relationships with program officers and key stakeholders
- Analyze funding trends and provide strategic recommendations to leadership
- Maintain accurate grant databases and reporting systems
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with 501(c)(3) organizations
- Proven track record securing $500K+ annually in competitive grants
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail
- Expertise in developing complex program budgets and financial narratives
- Strong research and analytical skills for identifying funding opportunities
- Experience with grant management systems (e.g., GrantStation, Salesforce NPSP)
- Knowledge of local Fort Wayne philanthropic landscape preferred
