Responsibilities
- Research and identify strategic grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies aligned with our mission
- Develop and write persuasive grant proposals, LOIs, and reports exceeding $5M annually in secured funding
- Cultivate relationships with program staff to gather compelling data and impact stories
- Manage grant pipeline and ensure compliance with funder requirements and deadlines
- Analyze funding trends and maintain accurate prospect databases using Salesforce
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices and ethical standards
- Prepare comprehensive grant budgets and financial narratives for complex awards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of successful grant writing experience with $1M+ annual fundraising track record
- Proven expertise in securing government grants (especially HUD, FEMA, and state agencies)
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with portfolio of funded proposals
- Advanced proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce) and grant management software
- Deep knowledge of Riverside County's philanthropic landscape and funding priorities
- Certified Grant Writer (GPC) designation or equivalent professional certification
