Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the county's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and hardware.
- Oversee cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external contractors for large-scale IT projects.
- Mentor junior IT staff, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to resolve complex technical issues.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, or systems engineering.
- Professional certification such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) is highly preferred.
- Proven experience managing government or enterprise-level IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, virtualization technologies, and cloud services (Azure/AWS).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
