The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee the full project lifecycle, from initial concept and requirements gathering to final implementation and post-launch support. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, analysts, and external vendors, to deliver high-quality IT solutions on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Lead Strategic Initiatives: Direct the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT projects utilizing Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for executive stakeholders, translating technical requirements into clear business objectives.
- Resource Coordination: Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks early and implement proactive strategies to minimize project disruption.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet stringent state government standards and compliance regulations.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior project managers and foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT project management, preferably within the public sector or large enterprise environments.
- Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is highly required.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of cloud computing (AWS/Azure), cybersecurity protocols, and enterprise software architecture.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with state procurement processes and government compliance standards (e.g., OMB Circulars).
