Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT projects, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, and resource allocations using industry-standard methodologies (Agile/Scrum or Waterfall).
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, while implementing effective contingency plans to ensure on-time delivery.
- Communicate project status, milestones, and challenges to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee contract deliverables to ensure quality and compliance.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and requirements gathering sessions to define project scopes and objectives.
- Mentor junior project managers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the public sector or a comparable complex organization.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is highly desired.
- Proven experience managing large-scale IT implementations, software upgrades, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical audiences.
- Must be a resident of the State of Colorado at the time of appointment.
