Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT infrastructure solutions to support county operations.
- Oversee network security protocols, including firewall management, intrusion detection, and data encryption.
- Lead the planning and execution of major IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for hardware, software, and cloud-based applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technology needs and recommend strategic solutions.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Mentor junior IT staff and conduct technical training sessions to foster a culture of excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration, network engineering, or a similar role.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or CISSP are highly desirable.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and incident response procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
