Responsibilities
- Lead Complex Initiatives: Direct the full project lifecycle for large-scale software development and system modernization projects from conception through deployment.
- Stakeholder Management: Cultivate strong relationships with executive leadership, department heads, and community stakeholders to align IT solutions with organizational goals.
- Agile Leadership: Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups, ensuring high team velocity and morale.
- Resource & Budget Oversight: Manage project budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure fiscal responsibility across all assigned projects.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks early and implement proactive mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all projects adhere to federal, state, and local government regulations, security standards, and IT governance policies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification: PMP, PgMP, or Prince2 certification is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive project management experience in the public sector or a comparable complex environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of SDLC methodologies, cloud computing (AWS/Azure), and enterprise software integration.
- Colorado Residency: Must be a current resident of the State of Colorado.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical audiences.
