Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of IT projects, from initiation and planning through execution and closure, ensuring alignment with state strategic goals.
- Manage cross-functional teams of developers, analysts, and vendors, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Ensure strict compliance with state procurement regulations, budget controls, and reporting requirements.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to keep initiatives on schedule.
- Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings, including executive briefings, to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Mentor junior project managers and contribute to the development of project management methodologies within the department.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing IT projects within the public sector or a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects with budgets exceeding $1 million.
- Valid PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP certification is strongly preferred.
- Expert knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical data for non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid California Driver's License and insurability.
