Job Summary:
The Senior IT Project Manager will plan, execute, and close projects within budget and on schedule. You will coordinate resources, manage stakeholders, and ensure that all county IT projects align with strategic objectives. This role requires exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of software development lifecycles.
Responsibilities
- Lead Project Lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for executive stakeholders, department heads, and technical teams, translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Resource Allocation: Coordinate cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and vendors, to ensure optimal performance and timely delivery.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on county operations.
- Budget Oversight: Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and report financial status to senior management regularly.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet strict government standards and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within the public sector or large enterprise.
- Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is strongly required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, ServiceNow) and ERP systems.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with government procurement processes and compliance standards (e.g., FAR, state regulations).
