Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring, and Closure) for high-stakes state IT initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local government regulations and security standards.
- Manage cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment to drive project success.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure on-time delivery.
- Communicate complex technical requirements and progress updates to executive stakeholders and non-technical staff.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to minimize impact on operations.
- Implement Agile and Waterfall methodologies to optimize workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 2 years specifically within the government or public sector.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is highly desired.
- Proven expertise in Agile/Scrum frameworks and project management tools (Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet).
- Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and federal compliance standards (FISMA, HIPAA, etc.) is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
