Role Overview
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise and a strong understanding of government IT standards. You will lead technical initiatives, mentor junior staff, and ensure our systems meet the rigorous demands of municipal operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the city's core IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud environments.
- Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues for internal departments and the public.
- Develop and implement IT security protocols to safeguard sensitive citizen data.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements for new software and hardware deployments.
- Provide advanced technical training and support to staff and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration or a related role.
- Experience working within a government or public sector environment is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network security, cloud computing (AWS/Azure), and data management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or PMP are a plus.
