About the Role
As a Senior IT Specialist, you will serve as a technical lead within the Department of Technology. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security for city services.

Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and deployment of enterprise-level IT infrastructure, including network systems, servers, and cloud environments.
- Oversee cybersecurity protocols and incident response procedures to safeguard sensitive municipal data and citizen information.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements and deliver scalable software solutions for city departments.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff and end-users across various government agencies.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee IT project lifecycles from initiation through final delivery.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure management, networking, or systems engineering within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP), server administration (Windows/Linux), and virtualization technologies.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or CCNP are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in managing IT projects and leading technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain a Louisiana State Police Criminal Background Check and Drug Screen as a condition of employment.
