Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the county's network infrastructure, including servers, routers, and switches, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Cybersecurity Leadership: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data against cyber threats and comply with federal and state regulations.
- Project Leadership: Lead complex IT projects from conception to deployment, coordinating with various departments to identify technical needs and deliver scalable solutions.
- System Optimization: Analyze system performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.
- Technical Support & Training: Serve as the primary technical advisor for county staff, providing expert guidance and conducting training sessions on new software and hardware.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality technology services and support.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in IT systems administration or network engineering within a large organization.
- Certifications: Active certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or CISSP are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of troubleshooting complex technical issues efficiently.
