Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, design, and deployment of network infrastructure and software solutions.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex IT issues affecting regional operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements for state-funded transportation projects.
- Ensure compliance with state security protocols and data privacy regulations (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA).
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to optimize efficiency and reliability.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior IT staff and external vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems administration, network engineering, or software development.
- Valid Florida Driver's License is required for this position.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and cloud technologies (Azure or AWS).
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of managing government contracts or working within a public sector environment.
