Responsibilities
- Lead Technical Implementation: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT systems, including network infrastructure, cloud services, and cybersecurity protocols.
- System Administration: Manage and troubleshoot server hardware and software, ensuring high availability and performance for county applications.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of IT projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
- Security Oversight: Monitor system security, conduct vulnerability assessments, and enforce compliance with federal and state data privacy regulations.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party technology vendors to ensure optimal service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Technical Support & Training: Provide advanced technical support to county staff and conduct training sessions on new technologies and procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in information technology, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CCNP, Security+, or CISSP are strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in network protocols, virtualization technologies (VMware), and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proven track record of resolving critical system issues.
- Public Sector Experience: Experience working in a government or public sector environment is a significant plus.
