Responsibilities
- Lead Technical Implementation: Oversee the architecture, design, and deployment of complex IT systems and infrastructure projects that support state agency missions.
- System Optimization: Analyze existing systems to identify bottlenecks and implement performance improvements to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Enforce strict security protocols and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, HIPAA) to protect sensitive citizen data and government assets.
- Project Management: Manage cross-functional teams and third-party vendors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving critical technical issues and providing advanced technical guidance to junior staff.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to define technology roadmaps and recommend innovative solutions for state operations.
- Training & Mentorship: Conduct training sessions for staff on new technologies and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT systems analysis, architecture, or engineering, preferably within the public sector or large enterprise.
- Certifications: Active CISSP, PMP, or AWS/Azure certification is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), virtualization technologies, and enterprise network infrastructure.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable instructions for non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of resolving critical technical incidents under pressure.
- Legal Authorization: Must be a U.S. citizen or possess valid permanent residency status to meet federal security clearance requirements.
