Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-level software solutions, ensuring alignment with state IT standards and security protocols.
- Oversee the maintenance and optimization of complex database systems, including data integrity, backup strategies, and performance tuning.
- Manage cross-functional project teams, coordinating with stakeholders to define requirements, set timelines, and deliver projects on budget.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive government data.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and consultation to internal departments, resolving complex system issues efficiently.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to recommend innovative solutions for modernizing state services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT system administration, software development, or project management within a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft technologies (Azure, SQL Server, Active Directory) and Linux environments.
- Strong working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure) and DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under tight deadlines.
- Valid State of Wisconsin Driver’s License or ability to provide reliable transportation is required for occasional travel to satellite offices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical audiences.
