Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain complex server environments, including Windows Server and Linux distributions, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Cloud Solutions: Lead the migration and management of cloud resources on AWS and Azure, optimizing costs and scalability for state applications.
- Security Compliance: Enforce strict security protocols and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, state regulations) to protect sensitive government data.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and execute comprehensive disaster recovery plans and conduct regular system backups and failover testing.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with developers to ensure technical requirements are met efficiently.
- Automation: Script and automate routine maintenance tasks using Python, PowerShell, or Bash to increase operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in systems engineering, network administration, or IT infrastructure management.
- Certifications: Active certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or CCNP are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of troubleshooting complex system failures.
