Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT infrastructure solutions to support state agency requirements.
- Lead technical assessments and provide expert consultation on system architecture, cloud migration, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Oversee the lifecycle management of hardware and software assets, ensuring compliance with state procurement policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to safeguard sensitive government data.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate third-party service providers for quality and compliance.
- Train and mentor junior staff members, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems analysis, architecture, or engineering.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, PMP, AWS Solutions Architect, or CompTIA Security+ are strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale IT projects and adhering to strict government compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, Texas State Security Guidelines).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
