Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT projects, ensuring alignment with city strategic goals and budget constraints.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services.
- Cybersecurity: Develop and enforce robust cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and contractors to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor junior staff members and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the IT division.
- System Optimization: Analyze system performance and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency and user experience.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT project management and systems administration within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as PMP, CISSP, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, or C#), database management (SQL), and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Residency: Preference given to candidates who reside in the City of Boston.
