Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT systems and network infrastructure to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Oversee cybersecurity protocols, conducting regular audits and risk assessments to protect sensitive city data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Provide expert-level technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local government regulations regarding data privacy and IT standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in IT management or systems architecture within a large-scale organization.
- Certification such as PMP, AWS Solutions Architect, or CompTIA Security+ is strongly desired.
- Proven experience managing large-scale IT projects from conception to completion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid Driver’s License (for occasional site visits).
