Responsibilities
- Manage and Maintain IT Infrastructure: Oversee the daily operations of server systems, network hardware, and telecommunications equipment to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Cybersecurity Leadership: Implement and monitor security protocols, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to potential threats to protect sensitive county data.
- Tier 3 Technical Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex hardware and software issues affecting county departments.
- Project Management: Lead the planning and execution of major IT upgrades, software implementations, and digital transformation projects.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors to manage service contracts, conduct performance reviews, and ensure compliance with procurement standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including system diagrams, run books, and change logs.
- Staff Mentorship: Mentor junior IT staff and conduct training sessions on best practices and new technologies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required; an equivalent combination of education and extensive experience may be substituted.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT system administration or network engineering within a government or enterprise environment.
- Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent industry-recognized certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure) is mandatory.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical problems and implement effective solutions under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Compliance: Ability to adhere to strict government regulations, data privacy laws, and cybersecurity standards.
