Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), ensuring high availability and performance.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Implement and enforce information security policies and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with project managers to deploy new IT solutions and systems upgrades.
- Conduct regular system backups, updates, and security audits to prevent data loss.
- Train and mentor junior IT staff and government employees on new technologies.
- Document technical processes and create technical documentation for the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, and SQL databases.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure or AWS).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or CCNP are highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexible hours during critical system maintenance windows.
