Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the city's core network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance for all government applications.
- Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot servers, virtualization environments, and cloud-based solutions (Azure/AWS).
- Implement and enforce robust cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive citizen data and city assets.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning to prevent downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new IT solutions aligned with city strategic goals.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff and departmental users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or MCSA are strongly preferred.
- Experience with government compliance standards (e.g., FISMA) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
