Responsibilities
- Network Architecture & Security: Design, implement, and maintain complex network architectures to ensure 99.99% uptime for state government systems.
- System Administration: Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, firewalls, and virtualization environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Monitor network traffic for anomalies and implement security protocols in compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., NIST, FISMA).
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in the deployment of new IT solutions and upgrades to legacy systems.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors to ensure the timely delivery of hardware and software solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation, including network diagrams and standard operating procedures.
- Incident Response: Lead the technical response to system outages and critical incidents.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in network administration or systems engineering.
- Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification is highly desired.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and network security technologies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Licensure: Valid driver’s license and satisfactory background check required.
