Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT systems and software solutions for city departments.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into robust technical specifications and system architecture.
- Oversee project lifecycles from conception to deployment, ensuring milestones are met within scope and budget.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local government data security and privacy standards.
- Mentor junior staff and conduct technical training to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including urban planners and public safety officials, to integrate technology into civic workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems analysis, software development, or project management.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#, and database management systems (SQL).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale government or enterprise IT projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
