Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end project lifecycles for critical state IT infrastructure initiatives
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across state agencies and private contractors
- Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocation strategies
- Implement Agile/Scrum methodologies to ensure timely delivery of complex projects
- Conduct risk assessments and mitigation planning for high-visibility state systems
- Ensure compliance with state IT governance frameworks and security protocols
- Present executive-level progress reports to department leadership and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive IT project management experience in government/public sector
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential
- Proven expertise managing enterprise-level technology implementations ($500k+ budgets)
- Advanced knowledge of CA state procurement processes and IT governance
- Strong analytical skills for complex technical and policy challenges
- Excellent written/verbal communication and stakeholder management abilities
