Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT infrastructure and network systems for county departments.
- Oversee the administration of Active Directory, firewalls, and virtualization environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and hardware/software upgrades to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Enforce cybersecurity protocols and conduct regular security audits to protect sensitive government data.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to manage software licensing and technology procurement.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff and non-technical end-users.
- Document technical processes and maintain up-to-date system configurations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/government experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, and Azure cloud services.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or MCSE are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of data privacy laws and government compliance standards (FISMA, HIPAA).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
