Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex software applications and database systems to support agency objectives.
- Conduct thorough system analysis and code reviews to ensure high performance, security, and scalability of state-owned technology assets.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical IT infrastructure issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technological needs and develop innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to state security protocols, compliance standards, and data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR where applicable).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports for executive leadership regarding system status and project milestones.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in software development, systems analysis, or IT infrastructure management.
- Proven expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# and database management systems (SQL, Oracle).
- Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced government environment.
- Valid Driverβs License is required for occasional on-site travel to state facilities.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools.
